Underlining the responsible approach, Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, and Bernd Osterloh, Chairman of the General and Group Works Councils, have set the objective of developing Volkswagen into the economic AND ecological global leader by 2018. The Volkswagen brand has launched the „Think Blue.“ initiative to show that responsibility extends beyond using environmentally-friendly products and technologies in car manufacturing.
Young people are the future, and they can make an important contribution to tomorrow’s sustainable mobility concepts. This is why Volkswagen is engaging its dialogue with young people as a main sponsor of the jugend denkt um.welt initiative, which trains them in issues of environment, climate and climate change. In the second edition of the project, Volkswagen is therefore offering key support.
By way of example, young people will be gaining first-hand insights into the field of “Sustainability and Mobility” during a one-week intensive course in Wolfsburg. During this week, participants and Volkswagen specialists will share their views and discuss challenges related to mobility, alternative drive concepts and innovative solutions for mobility of the future. The course focuses on exploring how each and every individual can support sustainable mobility today.
